Hello my friend, there is nothing more invigorating and regenerating than spending a few hours in the Mangrove forests. That’s what I did very early on the first day of the year – set out for a Mangroves expedition with friends in the Aghanashini wetlands, a Ramsar site of international importance.

Why mangroves matter:
Mangroves are critical – they provide essential coastal protection against storms, act as powerful carbon sinks (storing up to five times more carbon than land forests), support immense biodiversity as nurseries for marine life, and offer sustainable food, livelihoods, and resources for millions of people, acting as a vital bridge between land and sea. Their complex root systems stabilize coastlines, filter pollutants, and buffer communities from extreme weather, making them indispensable for ecological health and human resilience.

We have over 500 acres of of pristine Mangroves forests at Aghanashini. It has been a real privilege to support the conservation and regeneration of this special.evology that supports 64,000 families. This year we hope to innovate further and provide a few more livelihoods by leveraging the resourceful Mangrove forests.

Wishing you a regenerating New Year 2026🪾🌿
